BIG defeat OpTic; move on to New Legends Stage in London

BIG have beaten OpTic 2-0 at the FACEIT Major New Challengers Stage to book their place in the New Legends Stage (16-6 on Dust2 and 16-14 on Train).

The best-of-three round five match featuring BIG and OpTic started on Dust2 with the CT-sided Germans taking the pistol round thanks to a quad kill from Johannes "⁠nex⁠" Maget. BIG salvaged the second round despite having a 2vs4 disadvantage and won a 3vs5 in the first weapon round to lead 4-0.

Fatih "⁠gob b⁠" Dayik's team then won a 4vs5 and another 3vs5 to extend their lead to 6-0. OpTic got on the scoreboard in the 12th round but couldn't initiate a streak, losing the first half 14-1. The Danes got some hope after winning the first five rounds in the second half but BIG swiftly closed out the map with a 16-6 scoreline.

BIG are through to the next stage in London

Train kicked off with a triple kill and defuse by Tizian "⁠tiziaN⁠" Feldbusch. BIG, who were on the CT-side, got close to stopping OpTic's early buy in the third round but Jakob "⁠JUGi⁠" Hansen had different ideas as he came up with a triple kill in a 2vs4 to grab the round victory.

When the game was tied at 3-3, tiziaN showed up with a triple Deagle kill and BIG won the round with pistols to take the lead. gob b clutched a 1vs3 to extend their lead to 9-3. North gathered some momentum towards the end of the half to secure three more rounds and trailed 9-6 at halftime.

OpTic's Major campaign is over

René "⁠cajunb⁠" Borg's triple kill gave the second pistol win to OpTic who then won two anti-ecos to tie the game at 9-9. tiziaN and nex opened up the first weapon round with their entry kills as BIG reclaimed the lead.

Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz found three entry kills when the score was 12-12 and BIG went on to win the map 16-14, taking the series 2-0 and advancing to the New Legends Stage. Meanwhile, OpTic's run has come to an end.
